Urgent appointments
If you need an urgent appointment for today (Monday to Friday):
- Phone us on 01733 796622 during our opening hours
- Visit the surgery and speak with our reception team
When you get in touch, we will ask what you need help with. This allows us to direct you to the most appropriate clinician or service safely.
When we have reached capacity for the day
Our Duty Doctor monitors clinical workload throughout the day. When our same-day capacity is fully reached, we are unable to offer any further urgent or same-day appointments. We can only assist with routine and non-urgent requests for the rest of the day.
If you require urgent medical help that cannot wait until the next working day, please use one of the following services:
Peterborough City Hospital – Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC)
Walk-in urgent care for illnesses and minor injuries. Located within Peterborough City Hospital.
NHS 111
Available 24/7 for urgent clinical advice.
NHS 111 may be able to book you into one of their designated appointment slots or direct you to the most suitable service.
Emergency Department – Peterborough City Hospital
For serious or life-threatening emergencies. Call 999 or attend the Emergency Department.
This approach protects patient safety and ensures urgent needs are managed promptly.
Routine appointments
To request a routine appointment within the next 14 days:
- Use our appointment request form, we will respond within 2 working days
- Phone us on 01733 796622 during our opening hours
- Use your NHS App or NHS website account for vaccinations and screening services
- Visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist
We will ask what you need help with so we can book you with the most appropriate clinician or service.
Evening and Weekend Routine Appointments
The GP Hub provides routine evening and weekend appointments for patients registered with participating Peterborough practices.
Location:
City Care Centre, Thorpe Road, Peterborough, PE3 6DB
Opening Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 18:30 – 21:00
- Saturday: 08:30 – 13:00 and 13:30 – 18:30
These appointments are delivered by the Greater Peterborough Network (GPN) in partnership with local GP practices.

Your appointment
Depending on your needs, your consultation may be offered:
- By phone
- Face to face at the surgery
- By video
- By text message or email
Remote appointments can provide flexibility and may allow a clinician to help you sooner, depending on the nature of your problem.
To cancel your appointment:
- use your NHS account (on the NHS website or in the NHS app)
- reply CANCEL to your appointment reminder text message
- phone us on 01733 796622, Monday to Friday, when we are open
- visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist, Monday to Friday, when we are open.
We offer some appointments in the evening and on weekends. See the Evening and Weekend Routine Appointments section above. Please ask at reception if you would like to book an extended access appointment.
If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.
Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.
Please tell us:
- If there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond.
- If you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email.
- If you need an interpreter.
- If you have any other access or communication needs.
If you are housebound and need an appointment, we will do a home visit. We will phone you first to understand what you need. To request a home visit, it’s helpful if you phone the practice as soon after 8am as possible on 01733 796622. You can also:
